5304 Leading Organization Change

What is your why?

Why
Have you ever noticed that there is no structured plan for special needs children and young adults after they graduate from high school? The options and resources available to them are limited, and many families are unaware of the programs that do exist. As a result, these individuals often remain at home, shadow their parents, or attend adult daycares. Ideally, there should be a wide array of programs available, but either these programs are not well known within this community or they are expensive with limited availability.

How
To address this issue, we propose implementing programs within high schools to inform students about the variety of post-secondary options available to them. By introducing these resources early, students and their families can better prepare for life beyond high school.

What
Our initiative aims to prepare students for their transition into post-secondary life by providing them with a broad range of opportunities and experiences. This approach moves beyond the traditional method of trial and error, ensuring that students and their families are well-informed and equipped to make the best decisions for their future.
